Angelica – Wild (Angelica sylvestris)
Flowering between July and September this member of the carrot family is a common sight in damp habitats such as damp meadows, ditches and damp, rough grassland. Growing to a height of 200cm Wild Angelica was used as a vegetable up until the 20th century where the stem was eaten raw and the leaves boiled to a stew. It was also used in the past to treat scurvy as the plant contains vitamin C.
Wild Angelica has a pleasant aromatic odour (including the roots), making it ideal as a scented herbaceous plant
Preferring full sun, but will tolerate some shade, Wild Angelica is best planted in damp or wet areas where other plants will struggle and the flowers attract a host of beneficial insects including bees.
WILDFLOWER PLUGS – MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY IS 10 PLUGS, IN MULTIPLES OF 10 OF EACH SPECIES.
